About

The About link will direct you to the library home page where Support for Families’ library services are explained.

List Libraries

The List Libraries link will direct you to a page that lists all of our libraries. We only have one; select it to go to the main search page.

Contact Admin

Follow this link if you want to send an email message to us. The email address: is tech@supportforfamilies.org. Use this email if you are having any technical problems accessing our library catalog. Informational questions about the library can be directed to info@supportforfamilies.org.

Search

The Search link directs you to the search page (see above).

Support for Families of Children with Disabilities (SFCD)

The Support for Families link directs you to the home page for our organization. The Library is one of many services that Support for Families provides for families of Children with Disabilities.

How to search

Select the field to enter a search word and click the search button. For example: if you want to find an item with “autism” in the title, type “autism” in the title field. The fields are not case sensitive (see picture below).

This will return all items in our library with “autism” in the Title and display 10 items per page. Click the next button to go to next page (see picture below).

To return to the start search page, click on the browser's BACK button or the SEARCH link at top of screen (see picture below).

For an exact search, type in your search word and click on the box after the field (see picture below).

Only items with the word “orders” in the title exactly the way you typed it will return on the next page (see picture below).

Search Tips

• Remember checking the box NARROWS your search, not checking the box BROADENS your search returning the most items.
• Knowing the most common words used in the catalog will NARROW your search and return the most relevant items.
• Search words are not case sensitive!
• Search the Author, Title, Category and Subject fields in the same manner.
• Searching using words in multiple fields will NARROW your search. Very good if you know what you are looking for. For example: Title=gifts and Category=parenting will only return the item with BOTH of these words in the Title and Category fields.
• For easy Category searches, click here to display an Adobe Acrobat PDF file of our current categories.
• Global characters with trundicated word searching are permitted. Global characters are defined as adding an asterick * to the end of a shortened word, such as child*. Note: this will BROADEN your search to 1000's of resources.
