Family Gatherings

All children and their families need opportunities for relaxation and recreation together with other families, but this is often difficult when the child has a disability or special health care need.

Support for Families Family Gatherings are designed to give children with disabilities, their siblings, parents or guardians, other family members and friends a stress-free day out, a chance to socialize informally, and opportunities to network with others in a fun and accepting atmosphere.

We now organize four family events each year. These outings have gradually become one of our most popular services, with an average of 800 family members participating every year. Events have included parties in the spring and for Halloween, a summer crafts or games day, and a winter holiday ice-skating event. All these events are free of charge for families.
