Project Collaborators
CCICP is a collaborative effort among:
- Children's Council of San Francisco (CCSF)
- Wu Yee Children's Services (WYCS)
- Support for Families of Children with Disabilities (SFCD)
- Child Care Law Center (CCLC)
The mission of the Children's
Council of San Francisco is to support children, families and child
care providers through advocacy, information, education and child care
resources. For 30 years, the Children's Council of San Francisco has been
working to improve the well being of children, parents, families, and
child care providers, and to make affordable, high-quality child care
a reality for all working families. When it was incorporated in 1973 as
a nonprofit organization, Children's Council was one of the first child
care resource and referral agencies in the United States. Since that time,
it has grown to encompass many additional programs and services.
Wu Yee Children's Services
Wu Yee Children's Services is a private, nonprofit organization. Wu Yee is a Chinese phrase meaning "protector of children." The organization's mission is to improve family life by providing and advocating for quality child care, children, and family support services. Wu Yee is the oldest provider of parent support and the first Chinese-founded and managed child care service in Chinatown. The agency provides child development programs, training and technical assistance to child care providers, child care information and referral, home visitation, case management, and support groups.

Support
for Families of Children with Disabilities
(SFCD) was founded in 1982 by three
parent/professionals who recognized
that parents of children with disabilities/special health care needs not only face difficult
emotional issues, but that parents
and professionals must be better informed
and educated about disability issues.
SFCD has grown from a three-person
volunteer support group to a full-service
family resource center, offering telephone
information and referral service,
parent mentoring programs, workshop
series, newsletters, and an extensive
information library. Services are
provided free by 100 volunteers, 22
full-and part-time staff and 10 support group
leaders.
The Child
Care Law Center (CCLC) is a nonprofit
legal services organization dedicated
to improving and expanding child care
services available on the local, state
and national level. CCLC provides
legal support for parents and providers,
training and education seminars for
both lawyers and laypersons, technical
assistance on legislative and administrative
drafting and analysis, advocacy support
for improved child care policies on
local, state and federal levels, and
develops and distributes publications
relevant to child care law.
