Protect the CCS Partnership
Support AB 301/Pan

California’s Children’s Services has forged a successful partnership with managed care, while still providing our sickest children with the medical care they need to survive and thrive.  The CCS partnership with managed care sunsets in 2012.  Allowing the CCS partnership to sunset would threaten a model system of care that’s been in place since 1927.  AB 301/Pan would allow this important protection for sick kids to continue.  CCS is worth protecting because it’s good for children.

Please support AB 301/Pan:
This bill would extend the sunset date for the CCS carve-out from managed care until January 1, 2018.  CCS and Managed Care have a proven partnership that ensures children have coordinated and quality medical care for their complex health care needs. 

CCS PROTECTS CHILDREN

• CCS directs children into a regionalized pediatric provider network.  Children's survival rates are dependent on access to this regionalized system of medical care services

CCS DELIVERS QUALITY MEDICAL CARE

• Children enrolled in CCS have fragile medical conditions that demand immediate care.  Children in CCS have conditions such as leukemia and other cancers, spina bifida, cleft palate, diabetes, premature birth, congenital heart disease and other serious, rare, life-threatening conditions.
• Children with special health care needs need special consideration in the managed care proposals.  Adult systems of medical care don't take into account the special physical, emotional, and developmental needs of kids.

CCS IS AN ORGANIZED SYSTEM OF CARE

• CCS’s partnership with managed care provides children with coordinated care, quality assurance, a fully credentialed CCS provider network, and pre-authorized services and medical case management.
