Section 1. GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

Families of children with disabilities may be eligible to receive services from one or more governmental agencies. This section provides a list of the major governmental agencies that oversee the delivery of these services to children with disabilities, arranged by category. Many government agencies have residential eligibility criteria. The agencies in this guide primarily serve families in San Francisco County. For information about similar agencies in the counties surrounding San Francisco, consult one of the family resource centers in those areas. A listing of family resource centers in the counties directly surrounding San Francisco is included in the Introduction.
