More than 60% of California third graders can’t read at grade level. And yet most parents blame themselves if their child is struggling to read.
This roundtable will focus on what parents and teachers need to know about the state’s reading dilemma.

Here are some of the questions we hope to explore:

  • How did the literacy crisis get this bad? How has it flown under the radar for so long?
  • If the way the brain works is settled science, why is the science of reading still so controversial?
  • How can parents learn to work with teachers?
  • Is class size a big obstacle?

Send in your questions for what we promise will be a lively and interesting hour.
