Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) conference at The Westin St. Francis on Union Square in San Francisco, March 2-5, 2023.

Audrey Vernick, a member of our Support for Families community and also, Director of Patient and Family Advocacy at Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Alliance, will be presenting a half-day session on transition on Friday afternoon, March 3, 2023, entitled “Understanding Education Transition: A Comprehensive Overview.” This session will be geared toward families and caregivers. This is a topic that parents always want more information about, and the opportunity to spend 4 hours doing a deep dive is very exciting! This talk will cover the IEP process, appropriate goals, and services, adult agencies, the transition to adult health care, decision-making options, financial considerations, and more.

If you are a COPAA parent member – $50 for the year – then this half-day session is only $50! Scholarships are also available.

There will also be dozens of incredible sessions on all things related to special education from attorneys, advocates, speech therapists, educational leaders, math and literacy specialists, social workers, and a professor of medical ethics.
