Starting Saturday, July 16, every person in every community nationwide can dial “988” to reach trained crisis counselors who can help in a mental health, substance use or suicide crisis. Learn how 988 can help you in a crisis and what it might mean for your community with these FAQs from NAMI.

The 988 lifeline will accept calls and texts from anyone who needs support for a suicidal, mental health, and/or substance use crisis. Language support if available in 150 languages, and TTY is available by first dialing 711, then 988.
